Adam C's videos of late night Brit car meets are always great and this one is a real gem. Tandem rotary drifting and a mustang (almost) crash to top it all off.

Brits: Do you have far less severe punishments for this kind of thing than we do in the US? The cops never seem to care even when they are called on these meets! And nobody ever calls them it seems!

Police take reckless driving seriously but as long car meets are not disturbing members of the public and nobody is putting others in danger.

The police would rather they played their music (not too loud), admired each others cars, etc... but if people start doing burn outs or things get heated and fights break out, they will shut it down and monitor the area and surrounding areas for the rest of the evening.

hahah uhhhh these meets are like 100% burnouts and never seem to get shut down! The best ones are at locations where people will just do burnouts and slides from the meet to the street. The police will drive by and maybe stop someone and leave again to do whatever your cops do instead of eating donuts

The thing is, the police have to catch them in the act and the way the police is, they don’t have enough units to keep a police presence all the time.

It’s like when you have a house party, the music is loud, your having fun, then someone shouts ‘the police are here’, so you turn the music down, wait till they leave and then crank it up.

we do have a ton of police presence for this sort of thing, my C&C of choice is very tame, no burnouts but people will rip down this long/straight side street. Unforutnately it has a bunch of houses on it that complain enough about the noise for police to stand in the middle of the road and make every do 10 MPH

Our police service isn’t especially big and over the last few years they’ve had more and more cut backs as the government tries to cut the nation’s deficit.

TFW you live in a country that makes sense... (minus Brexit IMO but lets not get into that...)

I like it. Lol.

We have some strict laws but then they are not overly strict.

Such as we can import virtually any car and register it as long as it can be made to comply with U.K. law such as a rear foglight, split dual use taillights such as the American way of using a lightlight/brake light as an indicator also, etc..., but we aren’t as restrictive like Norway or Finland where you can’t alter the vehicle such as do an engine swap or make it more powerful. Or countries where they won’t allow registration of LHD cars in RHD countries and vice versa. Yes we have strict vehicle inspections but that is to ensure the vehicle is safe for the driver and other road users.

We’ve all got our crosses, like you say Brexit, you have a president that got less votes but still won.

Nowhere’s perfect. Lol.

Yeah your car laws are super reasonable! Minus the tax discs haha

We got rid of the tax discs two years ago (I believe Northern Ireland still uses them, along with MOT (inspected) discs which the rest of the U.K. didn’t have).

It’s all internet based now.

The awkward bit really is now when you sell a car the remainder of the tax is refunded and so the new owner has to arrange tax for the vehicle before they can drive off with it or tow or trailer it away.
